Video: Popular Mechanics manages to kill a Sonim handset
By Stefan Constantinescu on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at 4:49 AM PST In Casio, Motorola, Sonim
A few months ago I showed you a video with my buddy Dan Lane abusing, sodomizing, and molesting a Sonim handset in an attempt to break it. He failed. Sonim handsets are known to be built like tanks and can withstand practically any type of accident, except for being dropped in an active volcano, which is why I’m a bit stunned to see Popular Mechanics bust a Sonim handset by merely just stomping on it, repeatedly. They tested the Sonim versus a ruggedized Motorola (NYSE: MOT) on AT&T and a Casion device from Verizon (NYSE: VZ). I wonder how the Nokia 3720 Classic would have faired.
What do you think, are you the type of person who needs a rugged handset? Why can’t you just try being a little bit more careful?

This isn’t super new. Anyway, I know several folks (including my wife) with the GzOne (btw, you mis-spelled “Casio”) and they are indeed indestructible.
I DESPERATELY want a non-stupid ruggedized smartphone. Prefer S60.
