BlackBerry-DM-tetherTethering your BlackBerry to your computer for internet access has always been something of a hassle, to the point that full apps have been developed to ease the process, but it sounds like RIM has taken a clue and included an IP Modem option in the unreleased version 5.0.1.16 of Desktop Manager, on top of all the usual device management utilities. It’s a welcome addition and long overdue, but before you get excited, just make sure that you have a plan supporting tethering or you’ll potentially find yourself with a very steep data bill. The leaked DM is available for download in both bare-bones English and multilingual with media sync versions if you want to give it a try yourself.
