Mobispine has recently launched its Web Messaging Centre, enabling users to send SMS and MMS from a web site. The comprehensive service can access a user’s phone address book through online synchronization, enable groups and distributions lists of up to 1 million numbers, display a conversational history of messaging and enable any picture to be sent to any mobile as an MMS.
Web Messaging Centre will be offered through distribution partners (i.e. carriers), allowing them to bring traffic to their web sites and eventually increase their ARPU. The service offers features for both consumers and businesses, and is designed to complement existing Mobispine’s offering that includes Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) Outlook plug-ins, Internet Explorer and Firefox toolbars, Mac Widgets, Vista Gadgets and Lotus Notes connections.
Commenting on the new service launch, Mobispine’s James Pycock siad: “Our PC-to-Mobile products are very sticky and proven to drive ARPU. Now we are bringing a sophisticated web app to the market that can be easily accessed from any computer anywhere and offers far more features than are possible on a phone. SMS has become an essential part of both social and business life. We are providing the centre for mobile messaging on the internet combining the power of the web with the immediacy and reach of SMS.”
