Sprint has added a little incentive for those willing to switch carriers and pick up the Pre – an incentive that amounts to $100 in credit, that effectively halves the existing $199 pricetag. Sorry existing customers, this is for new blood only. We’ve been holding out for a price cut to the Palm Pre, but nobody was expecting it to drop to under a hundred bucks. In retrospect, it does kind of make sense when you’ve got the HTC Hero soon occupying the upper-end. It’s still hard to guage the exact level of success the Palm Pre will enjoy in the long run, but a low price point is a big part of the equation when luring in the competition’s customers. How many of you would be willing to switch to Sprint if they could get a cheap Palm Pre out of the deal? If you’re interested, hit up Sprint – just remember, the promo lasts only until the end of October.
