Nokia 7705 Twist for Verizon: QWERTY, 3 megapixel camera, $100 after 2 year contract

The Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 7705 is finally official, after numerous leaks, and even a clone produced by the Chinese. For $150 ($50 mail in rebate) and a 2 year contract you get a 2.71 inch x 2.71 inch x 0.59 inch phone that weighs 3.44 ounces and has a 2.5 mm headphone jack that makes it useless for music, 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, EVDO support, threaded SMS to help keeping track of those long conversations with your high school sweetheart easier, 2.4 inch 262,000 color screen, and not much else from what the Verizon press release states. Color me interested in a GSM variant of this device, it actually looks innovative in terms of form factor. Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless customers will be able to order this thing from the Verzion website starting this Sunday on September 13, and will be able to pick it up from stores starting September 21. Are you guys going to pick this up?

I concur – I’ll take an unlocked GSM version for the same reasons, as I have left VZW for good…
