CoPilot Live iPhone Sat Nav App gets a free update

By Ben Robinson on Monday, September 14th, 2009 at 3:30 PM PST In GPS/Satellite Navigation, iPhone OS

We wrote about how good CoPilot Live is before (here), but ALK Technologies Ltd has now released the first update for its best-selling iPhone sat nav app. Available for free to existing users, the automatic update brings a number of improvements and new features to UK and Ireland customers including safety camera alerts, the ability to dial a point of interest from within the app and improved GPS performance. CoPilot Live will now also automatically resume following a phone call.
Since its launch in August, CoPilot Live has had a significant impact on the UK iPhone App Store, and currently is the #1 paid navigation App. Customers enjoy full-featured navigation, complete with turn-by-turn voice guidance and detailed 3D street maps of UK and Ireland.
CoPilot Live makes the most of the phone’s in-built mobile Internet connection to provide useful connected ‘Live’ services including Live weather information and a free location-sharing service called LiveLink. A range of additional premium Live services will be available to purchase in September, including real-time traffic information, fuel prices at nearby petrol stations and Live local search.
The CoPilot Live UK iPhone update is available for existing customers now via the App Store. CoPilot Live for iPhone is available as UK + Ireland version for just £25.99 or a Pan-Europe version for £59.99. Single region versions are also available for most European countries for €33.99.

I am sick and tired of everything being for the very inept I-Phone.

Windows Mobile smart and touch handsets blow away the pathetic little I-Phone.

I think that the industry providers should realize that they had better diversify, before they position themselves out of the meaningful and significant future market.

I have had Windows Mobiles both 5.0 and 6.1 and whilst I agree they were quite good operating systems and allowed you to run most anything, including a satnav, I have to sat just getting my first IPhone (3GS), I think it is great, I will still use my old Tytn 2(I love it).

It is has always been horses for courses, and so it will be.

    Cheers
