Tele-GreenlandI don’t know anyone that lives in Greenland… In fact, I probably never will. But if I did, I’d be sure to let them know about this little tidbit of news. Seems as though Tele Greenland (Greenland’s only mobile network operator) has asked the good folks at Nokia Siemens to get a 3G network a hummin’. Apparently the upgrade will be completed by spring of next year. Speedy.

CTO of Tele Greenland Jørn Jespersen commented:

“As the incumbent operator in Greenland, it is our task to offer high quality mobile services to the people in Greenland. We selected Nokia Siemens Networks because it offered an integrated, simple to manage 900 MHz 3G solution to meet our needs at a competitive price…”

Expansion of the new 3G network will start in the capital city (Nuuk) area, and expand from there. Congrats to all the fine folks in Greenland… Get ready for 3G speeds in the near future!
