HTC-Leo-TesterWe’ve seen a lot of pictures and video of HTC’s upcoming Windows Mobile mammoth, the Leo, but not much information about a release date. It would have been nice if it came out on October 6th. along with the other Windows Mobile 6.5 launch devices, but a tester has indicated that the Leo will be coming out around the end of November or beginning of December. At least that’s in time for the holidays, eh? If you haven’t heard of the Leo, it is a beast of heretofore untold awe: 4.3″ WVGA touchscreen, 1Ghz processor, 5 megapixel camera, 512 MB of RAM, and all the usual goodies like Wi-Fi, GPS, 7.2 Mbps 3G, and a 3.5 mm standard headphone jack. As for hands-on impressions, the tester was impressed with the battery life (lasts a day and a half of heavy usage), found the camera’s auto-focus snappy, and the build quality sturdy. The status of digital compass is still unverified, but it’s likely to find its way in sooner or later.
