Verizon’s Omnia II Gets Makeover

Samsung OmniaII VZ Verizons Omnia II Gets MakeoverWe were hearing that Verizon (NYSE: VZ) would be getting the next Samsung Omnia sometime in July, but with the date come and gone, it’s obviously been delayed. How come? Apparently the Omnia II I8000 got a little facelift before launch. The new d-pad reminds me a bit of the B3410 and does a good job of providing the Omnia 2 with some much-needed differentiation from the Jet. Running Windows Mobile 6.1, and packing a 3.7″, WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, and a 5 megapixel camera, the Omnia II is nothing to sneeze at. While there’s still no update on when it will actually become available in North America, the I8000 has happily been finding its way across a bunch of foreign markets.
