WaveNest Innovations is out with the iPhone app called BabyBuilder, which is apparently the first interactive baby-building application for Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s mobile platform. It allows any two people to “get an animated glimpse into what their future or fantasy infant baby might look like.” This is done by using facial mapping and recognition algorithms that generate the realistic-looking babies from digital photos. Mentioned technology focuses on key facial features such as the ears, eyes, nose, mouth and chin as well as the relative distance between those features. Once a photo is created, it can be saved into the photo library or shared with friends via Twitter, Facebook and email.

Moreover, the application goes beyond static photos, allowing you to see your baby randomly producing creepy baby talk, baby puke, or even make noises that might gross out a few. However, it’s worth noting that BabyBuilder is meant to make people laugh and joke, and in that sense you can use it to virtually mix genes with celebrities, athletes, supermodels, rock stars, politicians… you name it…

Finally the price – BabyBuilder could be yours for $1.99. A free, lite version is also available.
