TomTom GPS iPhone 3GS car kit available for pre-order in UK

TomTom’s GPS-boosting car kit for the iPhone 3GS was supposed to make the TomTom iPhone navigation app as fast and accurate as any stand-alone GPS navigation device on market. Unfortunately, TomTom’s iPhone app was launched on the AppStore before the TomTom car kit was ready to ship, and then it was delayed. That left many an iPhone 3GS user having to use the built-in GPS receiver. But, folks in the UK might soon get a TomTom GPS car kit to call their own. The UK Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) Store show the “TomTom Car Kit for iPhone 3GS” on pre-order status for £100!

The online storefront mentioned that the £100 price would include the TomTom Car Kit for iPhone 3GS as well as the TomTom iPhone app. Unfortunately, that isn’t true. The Car Kit and the iPhone app will be separate purchases.
