Verizon’s HTC Touch Pro2 all sold out

Well that certainly didn’t take too long. Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless just this month launched the CDMA variant of the HTC Touch Pro2 – you know, the Pro2 variant featuring the 3.5mm headphone jack that GSM Pro2 users secretly cry themselves to sleep over. After just a couple weeks on Verizon’s shelves, the No. 1 US wireless carrier (by subscriber count) has burned through their entire stock of HTC Touch Pro2 smartphones!
Surprised? We’re not. The Verizon Touch Pro2 features a honkin’ big 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera (with autofocus), 3G data (EVDO Rev. A), GPS, WiFi, 16GB of storage, microSD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack and HTC’s slick TouchFLO 3D UI running on top of Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. And, to round out the Verizon Touch Pro2’s package of awesome features, the smartphone supports limited GSM frequencies for roaming abroad. It’s easy to see how Verizon is already dry on their Pro2 inventories.
If you missed out on the Verizon Pro2, you can still pick up a CDMA Pro2 from Sprint. Keep in mind that only CDMA Pro2 variants include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Touch Pro2 does not come with 16GB of storage. It comes with a MicroSD slot that is capable of handling a 16GB card.
Good call on the Internal storage size, Jason. But, and I hate to do this, the ‘unoffical’ MicroSD(HC=High Capacity) support for the TouchPro2 is 32GB; not just limited to the ‘official’ 16GB.
Good luck finding one though, or getting it for a worthwhile price–SanDisk announced there 32GB model at the first of the year(09), and they still haven’t brought them to market.
