NetNewsWire RSS reader for iPhone updated with Google Reader syncing support

Although we haven’t covered NetNewsWire in the past, now’s the right time to do so. The reason is simple – it’s now more useful than ever before.

Those not familiar should know that NetNewsWire is the RSS reader for the iPhone and what’s especially notable in this release is the support for Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Reader syncing. What that means that stories you’ve marked as read on the web will stay like that even when you access them through the dedicated iPhone app.

But it’s not just the GReader that can sync with NetNewsWire. The app can also sing along its Mac counterpart and FeedDemon for Windows by NewsGator.

There are two version of NetNewsWire available – free and premium. As far as I’ve understood, the only difference is in the presence of ads. As you can guess for yourself, it’s the premium version — which costs $1.99 — that doesn’t include any advertising at all…
