AT&T’s Samsung Omnia II almost here!

AT&T (NYSE: T) is going big with Windows Mobile 6.5. Following on the carrier’s launch of the AT&T PURE and AT&T Tilt II, new ads hint at a near-term release of the WinMo-powered Samsung Omnia II. The Samsung Omnia was recently seen passing through the FCC on its way to the US with support for AT&T’s 3G frequencies, so it’s not surprising to see the handset finding its way to AT&T’s in-store ads.
The Omnia II’s gigantic 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, 5-megapixel camera (auto-focus and dual-LED flash), GPS, WiFi and hefty on-board memory stores should give AT&T a healthy alternative to its iPhone 3GS, which is expected to max out its AT&T exclusivity agreement next year. Of course, there’s the AT&T PURE and Tilt II to contend with as well.
We may know more tomorrow, when Windows Mobile 6.5 officially launches.

I’m going to be pissed if ATT releases it before Verizon…
Looks good. Seems to have better specs then the HTC Diamond 2 (AT&T Pure). Might be the upgrade I was looking for.
Who can actually substantiate the claim that Omnia 2 is coming to ATT. All the rumours so far indicate this to be a Latin American version bound for that area. This was all over the net back in July and August.
Anyone can confirm?
