Guinness Pub Finder app helps beer-lovin’ folks find a place to quench their thirst

Fans of the Irish beer, this is an iPhone app for you. It’s called Guinness Pub Finder, and as you can guess for yourself, it allows you to locate a nearby pub, wherever you happen to be in the U.S. Actually, not everywhere, as in some states this feature isn’t legal. For those matters, Guinness is not to blame – you’ll have to contact you local state government.
Anyway, in addition to helping you find a place to get a good beer (”Locate a Pint”), the application also has another feature (”Know your Pint”), which shows you how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness in 6 steps. Finally, there’s DRINKIQ, with useful alcohol FAQs.
Now I would call this a great marketing, except that the application is not free. I guess some ongoing maintenance is required to keep the database of all the pubs up to date, but still, $1.99 seems too much for something that should essentially be available free of charge.
