Fans of the Irish beer, this is an iPhone app for you. It’s called Guinness Pub Finder, and as you can guess for yourself, it allows you to locate a nearby pub, wherever you happen to be in the U.S. Actually, not everywhere, as in some states this feature isn’t legal. For those matters, Guinness is not to blame – you’ll have to contact you local state government.
Anyway, in addition to helping you find a place to get a good beer (“Locate a Pint”), the application also has another feature (“Know your Pint”), which shows you how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness in 6 steps. Finally, there’s DRINKIQ, with useful alcohol FAQs.
Now I would call this a great marketing, except that the application is not free. I guess some ongoing maintenance is required to keep the database of all the pubs up to date, but still, $1.99 seems too much for something that should essentially be available free of charge. Or not, you be the judge. AppStore link is here.
