The Weather Channel has launched a new and very free version of their app for the BlackBerry. The new version is ad-supported, but it’s hoped that being free and all, folks won’t mind the ads that much. It includes a GPS-based location tracker, interactive radar maps, current conditions, 36-hour forecasts, 10-day forecasts and a lot more.

As I punch this out, the app is still pending in the App World submission queue. I’ve got irons in the fire on this one and will know the moment it becomes available. In the meantime, you can load it up on your Berry directly from The Weather Channel. Use the OTA download links below.

For more info on The Weather Channel ‘Premium’, check it out in App World. It’ll run you $3.99.

Thanks Colleen!
