TELUS-LG-BL40-ChocolateAt an LG Fashion Week event yesterday, TELUS took the opportunity to announce a new LG Chocolate phone to the masses. The LG BL40 packs a 4″ WVGA touchscreen (tempered glass, at 345×600), a front-facing 5MP camera, on-device photo and video trimming, flash, one-touch copy and paste, WiFi, 3.5mm headset jack, and a heck of a lot more.

This is looking to be the most feature-packed Chocolate device from LG yet.

Of course, no pricing or launch date details have been released… All we know is the device is ‘coming soon’, so stay tuned for more as the information trickles in.

I just told my mom the great news and shes freaking out! She has the original chocolate, chocolate platinum, lg shine, cookie and now the arena. She’s an LG kinda lady lol. Since Telus is going GSM, will this end up being gsm for sure??

  • Robert Sawatsky

Telus is NOT going GSM – they are going to HSPA+, which is the 3.5G (or whatever you want to call it) evolution of GSM. Plain old GSM phones won’t work on the new Bell/Telus HSPA network, only 3G phones with the 850/1900 UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA bands will work.

The new LG phone will have at least one of those bands if not both.
