OS 5.0.0.328 Goes Official for Verizon BlackBerry Storm 9530 Users
By James Falconer on Monday, October 26th, 2009 at 6:22 AM PST In BlackBerry, BlackBerry OS, Verizon

Now that we know the Storm2 is hitting us on Wednesday, we can speculate what might have been the cause of the delay. One of the more probable reasons is the launch of OS 5.0 for Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Storm 9530 customers. I’d suspect Verizon wanted to get 5.0 out-the-door for existing Storm users, you know, show some love before the new-and-improved Storm hit the scene… and it looks like that’s exactly what happened.
OS 5.0.0.328 has gone all official on Verizon. To get started, simply fire up your BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Desktop Manager software… it should be there for you to download and install. If that doesn’t do the trick, try hitting up http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry.
Once you get ‘er running, be sure to let us know what you think of 5.0 on the Storm. Should be good!
Note: In case you missed it, the Storm2 was announced on Verizon a little earlier today. Availability October 28th, for $179.99 on a 2-year deal.
