Apple is one lucky company to have such a dedicated community of users. On that note, we spotted a fan-made video which we call “iDon’t Care” and which, as you can presume, answers to Verizon’s Droid commercial. The main point of the clip is “iDon’t buy brands who bash other brands.”

Personally, I’m impressed with the Droid and see it as one of those devices I’ve waited for so long to appear. However, will iPhone users switch sides is another story. What do you think?

And now the “iDon’t Care” video. Enjoy! ;)

I like Apple products, but this video has reminded me why I don’t like being seen using them. I’m not a ‘fanboy’, and don’t want to be associated with people that are.

“iDon’t buy brands who bash other brands”? What about those shameless and often inaccurate portrayals of Windows Vista and Windows 7 in the ‘Get a Mac’ adverts?

The Droid looks great, and is just what is needed to push Apple into developing newer and better technology. Competition is great for the tech industry. We need more of it!

this is probably the most sane comment i’ve read on this blog in a year.

    i love you.

iBelieve that Leechio has pegged the iNstance where iHipsters have discovered their rotten apple is getting eaten.

Nicely done – both to the V lizards and Google.

Less than a big Google fan but can’t wait to see the advertising with the droid nom nomming the old school rainbow Macintosh logo laid over a “There’s a map for that”.

Why doesn’t Verizon tell everyone the truth “droid – idont do more than 256mb of app storage” Rediculous Fail!!! Read and comment at androidandme.com/2009/10/news/google-fails-to-address-app-storage-issue-with-droid-and-android-2-0

  • Jerry

Correct. App storage is restricted to on-board storage and doesn’t matter what size SD card you have inserted into an Android device. This is Google’s half-backed attempt to minimize app pirating – which people do anyway. The consumer is really the one that loses out in the end. Sad. My guess is customers will be returning this phone in droves when they reach max app capacity very fast on the Droid. They won’t understand why – with a 16gig card. And idiots at Verizon won’t be able to explain it either. Perfect storm that will be amusing to watch none the less.

iSuspect that iDioTiC ApplEiStas will find themselves devolving to NoKiA fanboy status before all is said and done because they’re going to come face to face with Google FanATiCs who’ll LiVe with any Droid short-comings much as iPhonaTiCs have come to LiVe with theirs.*

    Bring on the carnage.

Watching dueling hipsters while the underpinnings of western civilization tank should provide a little bread-and-circus diversion and watching them bash each other to bleeding ruin with mobile devices ought to be funny as hell.

*i’M wondering when we’ll see formally recognized codification of the iSanity that is iThis and iThat?

I second the love for this comment.

Cute ad, but missed the hardest selling point of the iPhone’s competition – “iDon’t have the App Store”. Still, competition is always good!

I really wish the Pre’d had this advertising instead of the freaky girl. I do find it funny that there’s a lot of attention for the free turn by turn navigation, which the Pre had at launch.

The androids were tempting when I was deciding on my Pre but all the (then current) android phones were underpowered for the experience I’d want from a brand-new smartphone. The ‘droid should be as snappy as the GS and the Pre. If it takes full advantage of the GPU it should as smooth as butter.

Competition of the valid, healthy, feature-based sort is good for the entire smartphone ecosystem as it raises the bar across the board. Right now I think iPhone leads the way in “customer experience” by a nose (and iTunes), the Pre’s got the best cloud integration and UI for multitasking, and the Android has the most hardware features readily accessible to developers. I’m not sure what WinMob’s got going for it. (Sorry WinMob, no one I know loves you and I really hated WinCE 1 & 2)

If all goes well the next generation of smartphones should be fun to use, multitasking, cloud-enabled, easy to develop for, power-houses. Now if only we can get those next-gen batteries out so the phones can last more than day without an thick extended battery.

    Nice video man…
i think that the most important thing that will not allow droid to succeed is the 256mb of restricted storage for apps…

This does not allow the droid to be able to play many games since for example Rock band in the iphone weighs in 150 mb!! And also it doesn’t have itunes which enriches the iphone with multimedia goodies not only apps but movies and songs as well (all in extravagant quantities!). Which tells us that in the multimedia sector droid loses with a huge margin…

    There’s always the N900.

You dont care for brands that bash other brands, yet buy Apple?

Correct me if Im wrong but the Hodgeman campaign has been a years long Microsoft bash.

  • bugz

Ok, Like 5 of you are really stupid. Did you even watch the whole video? He indicates that he DOES favor brands that bash other brands. Have you ever heard of the following concept?…

    Sarcasm: \?sär-?ka-z?m\; noun
A form of humor that is marked by mocking with irony, sometimes conveyed in speech with vocal over-emphasis. Saying something that is opposite of what is intended to be meant; An act of sarcasm
