Canadians are gearing up for the big football game of the year up here in Canada. That’s right, the Canadian version of the ‘Super Bowl’, the ‘Grey Cup‘ is being played this Sunday in Calgary… Featuring the Montreal Alouettes vs. the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

If you’re familiar with the CFL, you’ll know that Saskatchewan’s fans are certainly among the most ‘hardcore’ of any team in the league… I have to give them that. That’s why I was not surprised at all when I read the new Roughriders iPhone and BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) app is being downloaded at an ‘astonishing pace’. The free app was released by the Roughriders and SaskTel, and since launch a month or so ago it has been downloaded over 11,000 times in 64 countries. The app delivers schedules, standings, scores, stats, news and more. Basically it’s a connection to keep you up-to-date on the latest and greatest surrounding the team.

For more information or to download the app, hit up Riderville.

Side Note: I’m looking forward to the big game on Sunday… Chicken wings and beer will be consumed… But…I can’t help myself… GO BOMBERS! :)

Rider fans are really amazing! They love to dress up and tell the world who they are. Have you seen this new website where they’re using augmented reality to show their pride with various Rider-themed costumes? http://www.talkingdogstudios.com/ar/riders/
