att-logoAT&T’s U-verse TV service is looking like an even better deal this month. In the spirit of the holidays, AT&T is giving new U-verse customers a $200 prepaid Visa card, which can be used to purchase a new AT&T smartphone. Customers who opt for a qualifying triple-play bundle (TV, Internet and Wireless service) will get $400 cash back to spend through the holidays. AT&T says the rebates can be used for “virtually anything else,” but the smartphone sounds to us like the best bet.

New customers will need to subscribe to U-verse TV (U200 or higher), U-verse Internet (Pro or higher) and Wireless service (Wireless 450 or higher) to qualify for the $400 credit. The TV and Internet bundle will get you $350 cash back, while the TV-only option will net you $200. U-verse TV boasts more HD channels than cable and works with the quad-tuner U-verse Total Home DVR, which we hear is better than our cable DVR. The Internet and wireless service aren’t any different from what you’re used to seeing, but it’s good to get TV, internet and cellphone service on one monthly bill.

You had us at “free smartphone,” AT&T.
