If you are a developer with login credentials to the Beta Palm Developer Program, chances are you’ve already received your ‘thank you’ from Palm… in the form of a letter and a $100 Amazon gift card. Now, how awesome is that? Good on Palm for thanking the developers from all over the globe, developers that have helped set the course and direction of webOS and the App Catalog (the App Catalog launched with 15 apps, now we have somewhere around 700).

At the end of this month the early access program will draw to a close, and the Palm Developer Program will open to the public. Me thinks next year developers will not receive a $100 gift card to Amazon… However, Palm does a fantastic job in keeping touch with developers, so I’m sure they’ll have something up their sleeves.

My thumbs are up on this one. Kudos to Palm for spiffing developers with some schwag, especially in good time for the busy holiday shopping season. Developers will no doubt want to rush over to Amazon to pick up a few Pixi’s, or maybe buy some accessories for the Pre… Or heck, maybe they’ll just buy some movies, books and dvd’s for aunt Rachel, brother Bobby and sister Suzie.
