Electric Pocket has just released FestiveTones – which is a seasonal version of its MailTones app for iPhone (which I posted on previously, here).
Now you can choose a festive tone to play that identifies when specific people send you emails. The collection of alert tones include sleigh bells, brass bands and carols alongside traditional sing along tunes such as Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas.
With FestiveTones, iPhone users can set a Christmas jingle for their incoming email and set special tones for specific users – making it easy to recognise incoming emails from work colleagues, family members, friends, or customers.
FestiveTones can also optionally pop up on the home screen and display the sender and subject of an incoming email so you can know instantly whether or not you need to launch the Mail app to read the whole message.
Well that’s cool enough – to be honest, I haven’t even moved off the default ringtones for my device yet, purely because I don’t have the time (any more) to fiddle about with stuff – but if I did, then mailtones, and maybe FestiveTones (if I were feeling festive) would be worth my time (and money)
FestiveTones is £1.19 in the UK App Store, and you can find it by (obviously enough) searching for ‘FestiveTones’

when SMS was a still a relatively new concept for most people (!), he has
now consulted on everything from bleeding-edge Mobile content, to the
next-gen accessories you might view it on. As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas!
He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently

occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience

regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.
