With the World Junior Hockey Championships starting in a few days (GO CANADA!), I thought it appropriate to mention this new hockey game for the iPhone and iPod Touch… ‘Slapshot Frenzy’.
Slapshot Frenzy is the latest title to be released from the developers over at Skyworks. It features a few different game modes. There’s a ‘Free Skate’ mode in which you have two minutes to practice your shooting skills on an opposing goalie. No defenders will get in your way, you can fire away at the goalie and put as many pucks in the net as you can! There’s also a ‘Classic Mode’, which consists of 3 periods of 2 on 2 hockey. Win face-offs, make killer moves around defenders, and score more goals than that AI. It’s that simple. There’s a local high score list and a global high score list, so you can see how you stack up against the rest of the world!
Slapshot Frenzy is on sale for the holidays for $0.99 (iTunes link). However, if you don’t feel like dropping the dollar, there’s a ‘Lite’ version available for free (iTunes link). You’ll only have access to the ‘Free Skate’ mode, but it will give you a good taste of what the game is all about!
