File this under “rumors,” but since it’s coming from always highly-informed Mobile Review’s Eldar Murtazin, I’m thinking there’s some merit to this story. And the story is – Nokia will be launching dual SIM phones at some point next year. That “some point” is the second quarter according to Eldar, who added that the Finnish giant will introduce a mid-range device that can sing along two networks at the same time.
At the moment, it’s unclear whether the upcoming device will run Symbian S60 or feature phone-friendly Series 40, and all we can do is hope for the former. Now that I’m thinking, Nokia’s perfect phone would be the dual SIM-enabled E72. Again, we should expect to hear more on this just in time for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Stay tuned…
