Buzzd goes AndroidThe mobile social city guide (hmm, sounds complicated) buzzd is “going Android,” providing users with activity updates for almost half a million venues across the United States and Canada. The dedicated application, available for download from the Android Market, brings all features of the iPhone app, including the so called “buzzdmeter,” which measures activity at popular bars, restaurants and nightclubs in your city – in real-time.

It’s a new version — not just for Android, but also for the iPhone and BlackBerry devices — and it comes with Twitter and Facebook integration, a must-have these days. Buzzd key features remain intact, and include:

  • The ability to see what others have “buzzd” in the feed section
  • Add/Invite friends from any address book including Gmail, Hotmail, AOL and others
  • Sort the “buzzdmeter” by category of places
  • Rate a venue with a thumbs up/down
  • See who’s at your favorite spots and “be in the know” before you go

Finally, in case you want to know whether Buzzd works in your area – here’s a list of cities for which it is “especially optimized for”: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Bronx, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Houston, TX; Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; Montreal, QC; New Orleans, LA; New York City; Oakland, CA; Philadelphia, PA; Portland, OR; Queens, NY; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA; Seattle, WA; Staten Island, NY; Toronto, ON; Vancouver, ON; Washington, DC.
