I wrote a piece on the release of the INQ Chat 3G , and my slight disappointment that there was a dearth of information on it when it was launched. Well have no fear, INQs PR company have been in contact and remedied that!
Usually I wouldn’t bother popping this sort of info up for phones that are already available on release, however, I really do think the Chat 3G is worthy of the coverage – it mixes smartphone functionality with social networking with a VERY good price-point! So here’s that info:
The INQ Chat 3G is the culmination of several months of listening, collaborating, developing and improving. It’s the latest milestone in our mission to produce smart, simple, fun to use and beautiful devices. The INQ Chat 3G is built to cope with the demands of a new generation of media consumers who want to throw email, text, Facebook, Twitter and internet browsing at a mobile device. It is built to run multiple internet and communication applications at the same time, over a fast 3G network and at an affordable price.
Here are the top ten features to check out on the INQ Chat 3G on 3 UK:
Qwerty keypad. Makes messaging quick and easy.
Mobile email for consumers that is robust, doesn’t require any fussy back-end infrastructure and is elegantly presented – especially with Gmail.
Proper Twitter and Facebook on a mobile that isn’t dumbed down from a PC.
One inbox shows texts, emails, pokes, Facebook messages and Direct Twitter Messages.
A completely integrated address book with Facebook, Twitter and Skype contacts.
Beautifully designed packaging and four changeable coloured backs.
Click the side button anytime to multi-task between applications.
Zero-click widgets on the home screen with a rolling ticker for Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo Weather and a choice of SkySports and GoogleNews feeds.
Pulls ALL the music on your computer regardless of whether it is a Windows Media file or from iTunes using the doubleTwist software pre-loaded on the INQ Chat 3G.
You can use the INQ Chat 3G as a mobile broadband dongle to get internet access on your laptop.
We’ve spent months working with our friends at Facebook, Twitter, and doubleTwist to produce the INQ Chat 3G. We also wanted to make sure we could
make it affordable for people who have up until now had to settle for unattractive voice-and-text-only handsets.
Nice! I’m getting a review device soon, and I’ll let you know how all of the above turns out!

Ben is a 10+ year veteran of the Mobile industry – starting his career
when SMS was a still a relatively new concept for most people (!), he has
now consulted on everything from bleeding-edge Mobile content, to the
next-gen accessories you might view it on. As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas!
He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently
became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years
when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to
'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make
your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device)
isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question
of why you continue to use it...
His focus at IntoMobile is mainly on Mobile content, services, and
infrastructure, particularly as regards the UK market – and with the
occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience
in the industry, he will provide commentary on the industry at large, with
regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.
