Baseball, a sport that never really took off to the same degree that say football (soccer) or basketball have, is coming to the Nokia N900 courtesy of India Games in a title called “Home Run Baseball”. Tap the screen to hit the ball, get your ego inflated a bit by hearing the computer generated sounds of a crowd going wild, and oh so much more.

The Open GL ES 2.0 graphics are enabled by the Ice 3D game engine, also developed by India Games, and you’ll see it being deployed on other platforms such as Android, iPhone and even Symbian. While the demo below is more of a demo than anything else, it is a step towards progress on what will probably become a $0.99 title. Maemo still doesn’t have paid for applications enabled, and the Maemo Application Store isn’t even integrated with Nokia’s Ovi Store. When that will happen is anyone’s guess.
