My friends at Schlage are set to announce some new security capabilities for their Schlage LiNK Remote Home-Management System. The announcement will hit us at CES, so I’ll keep my ear to the ground for more on this one.

The LiNK Home-Management System allows Schlage wireless keypad locks to be integrated with residential security systems offering central monitoring. In the package you receive a wireless lock or deadbolt. The lock is built with Schlage’s patented ‘Z-Wave’ technology… Which enables you to lock and unlock doors, monitor live camera feeds (cool!), control lighting, temperature and a whole lot more. Best of all, you can control everything from your computer, OR, from your iPhone or BlackBerry!

If you’re going to be around for CES, you can hit up the Schlage booth (20313) in South Hall 1 of the Vegas Convention Center. Again, stay tuned for more on this one. Schlage has been kind enough to send me some demo units to test, so I’m quite eager to give them a spin.

i’ll buy a package like this for my home once they make a webos application. Being me and my wife have new palm handsets. I’m not switching to a gay iphone for this ability and I’m not going to be using a blackberry when their systems keep dropping.
