Skype goes beyond computers and phones into TV sets

Not exactly a mobile news, but kinda related. Skype is partnering with LG and Panasonic to embed its service into Internet-enabled TVs of the two electronics giants. This means that you will be able to make free or cheap Skype from a TV, without a computer or smartphone connected!

A spokesperson from the company’s Singapore office said that the “TV move” was a “logical” development, and we somehow agree with the statement.

And in case you want to know which are the first Skype-enabled TVs, we’re talking about 2010 Panasonic Viera Cast series, as well as 26 LG models, all which will be launched this year…
