googlevoiceIt’s been nothing short of amazing to see the relief efforts for Haiti make huge strides over the past little while. The amount of money that has been raised is staggering (in a good way) to say the least. There’s no doubt that the ease of ‘text-to-donate’ programs has played a major role on monies raised… and there’s much more to come, that’s for sure.

With helping the good folks of Haiti on the mind, Google has offered up their Google Voice service to anyone trying to contact friends/family/loved ones. That’s right, free calls to Haiti are now available through Google Voice, for the next two weeks.

Kudos to Google on this one. Hopefully it helps out more than a few people trying to contact those near and dear to them.

To get started with Google Voice, you can download the client at m.google.com/voice

Important Note: Google has also setup a disaster relief page. Check it out and donate if you can.
