Are you ready for a ‘Stat Attack’ – right then, here goes: Today, Vodafone UK sold its 100,000th iPhone, just over a week after its launch in store. Compared to the likes of O2 and Orange (oh, and Tesco), I’ve a feeling those launch stats are going to hold up pretty well!
“The demand from both consumer and business customers has been phenomenal. They want an outstanding phone on an outstanding network and we’re delivering that,” said Vodafone UK CEO Guy Laurence.
Interestingly, there’s been a fair bit of news floating around the InterWeb about Vodafone’s network performance – anecdotally, I’d say from what I’ve read that it looks to be the best performing. Hmmm, now if only we had some videos of that ….. (hint: check my following posts!)
You can grab the iPhone on a range of Vodafone tariffs from the Vodafone UK website, here. Drop us a comment if you’ve bought an iPhone on Vodafone, are thinking of it, or have a comment about the network performance with it
Ben is a 10+ year veteran of the Mobile industry – starting his career
when SMS was a still a relatively new concept for most people (!), he has
now consulted on everything from bleeding-edge Mobile content, to the
next-gen accessories you might view it on. As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas!
He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently
became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years
when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to
'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make
your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device)
isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question
of why you continue to use it...
His focus at IntoMobile is mainly on Mobile content, services, and
infrastructure, particularly as regards the UK market – and with the
occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience
in the industry, he will provide commentary on the industry at large, with
regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.

Well, i didn’t get an iphone on vodafone, although i’d say it very much the best way to go deal-wise from what i’ve seen at the moment.
However, i do have a nokia 5800 on vodafone, and the reception is cracking. I haven’t ever had no signal, and very very rarely have I had low signal. It’s great, can’t complement it enough. Top performance, vodafone!

I’ve now had iPhones on all 3 UK networks selling them officially. For my location in Kent only Vodafone has an acceptable 3G signal. O2 had a good signal virtually everywhere but it wasn’t 3G which defeats the point of the iPhone. If you only use 2G then all your calls go to voicemail if you use the web. Orange signal was more variable with more 3G but also more no signal spots.
Vodafone has been excellent with full 3G coverage in most locations where I need to use the phone.
