tmobile_logoThere’s been a lot of bad press surrounding T-Mobile Sidekick lineup ever since T-Mobile’s Sidekick service took a nose dive last year, leaving Sidekick users without contact and calendar entries on their Sidekick handsets. The fallout from the Sidekick failure may be prompting T-Mobile to nix the entire Sidekick lineup altogether, according to new rumors. T-Mobile is said to be planning a slow phase out of its Sidekick phones, replacing them with the myTouch Slide from HTC, also known as the HTC Espresso. There’s also talk of Microsoft’s Danger division, which is responsible for the current Sidekick, introducing a new lineup of consumer-friendly smartphones to replace the Sidekick brand. These potential Sidekick replacement, ladies and gents, is what we’ve been referring to as Project Pink.

If true, we’ll be sad to see the Sidekick fading away into the sunset. Where will pseudo-celebrities and teens go for their quirky smartphone fix?
