After Leap, MetroPCS is hiring an investment bank

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that MetroPCS has hired JP Morgan Chase in order to help the company with a possible acquisition of Leap Wireless (Cricket). On its end, Leap hired Goldman Sachs to help it explore strategic options to eventually sell its business to another carrier.

If you remember, MetroPCS has already tried to acquire Leap in the past, but their offer was refused at that time. Now when both companies are talking to bankers, things could move forward. We’ll certainly follow this closely…
