Samsung, Handmark announce Global Venture Fund winners

Back in October of last year, we talked about Samsung and Handmark’s Global Venture Fund initiative, which was established to assist companies and/or individuals with the development of apps and services for next generation Samsung phones such as the Wave. The two companies used the Mobile World Congress to announce 30 winning titles, among which we find:

  • My Little Baby by Raylight
  • Glo by Mere Mortals
  • Grid by Fishing Cactus
  • polyhedral XL by Binary Hammer
  • Aces Texas Hold’em – No Limit by Concrete Software
  • TwinBlades by Press Start Studio

Some of the titles selected will find their way exclusively to Samsung phones. Funding amounts were not disclosed, but we do know each application listed above was eligible for up to $250,000 in funding. Moreover, Handmark on its end will help developers in testing and certification, as well as distribution of the application through the Samsung Apps…
