SRS Labs may have joined the LiMo Foundation, but that doesn’t mean they are not looking into other Linux-based platforms, as well. Quite the contrary, the company announced that its suite of audio enhancement solutions, SRS TruMedia, is now available for use on Android-powered devices.
Based on a modular platform, SRS TruMedia makes it simple for OEMs to “precisely tune the TruMedia suite for optimal audio performance on every make and model.” With TruMedia on board, music and videos sound more natural and detailed, offering “remarkable depth and clarity.” Moreover, SRS says TruMedia is very resource friendly with low MIPS and memory requirements; and that during the implementation, SRS engineers work closely with manufacturers to optimize the performance of each device’s audio system…
And the thing you (and I) care about is – when we’ll see the first SRS TruMedia-powered Android smartphone released. Hopefully, by the end of this year, though that’s not to say we have any inside information, it’s more of a hope than anything else. 😉
