Plants Vs. Zombies iPhone Sells Over 300,000 Copies & $1 Million In 9 DaysTo say Plants vs. Zombies on the iPhone was a highly anticipated title would be an understatement considering the latest news to come out of PopCap Games today.

PopCap Games announced Plants vs. Zombies for the iPhone has sold over 300,000 copies and made $1 Million in sales in just 9 days.  This also sets a new record for App Store launches.  The Director of Mobile Business Development at PopCap Games, Andrew Stein, had the following to say in regards to customer feedback on the iPhone adaptation of Plants vs. Zombies:

Plants vs. Zombies is our latest major franchise to make the jump to iPhone, and from the early customer and critical feedback it appears to be a great adaptation of the game.  There’s always a concern when bringing a computer game to a mobile, pocket-sized device that something will get lost in the process, but in this case the overwhelming consensus is that Plants vs. Zombies is even more fun on the smaller touch screen!

PopCap also announced its other addictive title, Bejeweled 2, is the first paid app on the iPhone platform to reach 3 million sales.

It should go without saying that for $2.99 and this latest news, all iPhone gamers should grab a copy of Plants vs. Zombies.  If this news doesn’t show how widely popular this game is, then I don’t know what will.  What, you don’t have $2.99 for hours upon hours of fun?
