Samsung Jet 2 has been announced in India. The device looks pretty much the same (identical?) as the original Jet S8000, making me think is this actually a new phone or some scam floating around the Interwebs.
In terms of the hardware, there are no any great (if any) enhancements. The CPU stays the same, clocking at 800 MHz, and so does the screen – it’s WVGA AMOLED. WiFi and GPS are on board too, and the camera sticks at 5 megapixels. So why they call it the Jet 2 is beyond me.
The software has been reportedly improved, packing a new 3D media gate UI along with TouchWIZ 2.0, and there’s also the “one finger zoom” feature that should reportedly enable “one hand operation to zoom in and out” while browsing the web, or just going around your photos and/or documents.
The price you ask? It’s 19,500 INR which is about $420. No words when the Jet 2 will hit other markets and honestly I’m not sure it should. If the only difference is in the software, Samsung should simply release a firmware update and that’s it… Any thoughts?
