If you remember that Windows Phone 7 Series device that made an appearance on the Engadget Show, you’ll already know WP7 is on LG’s radar, but this picture shows what is potentially to follow. The first device, since dubbed the Panther, had few details surrounding it outside of having a 5 megapixel camera, and the details for the above-pictured mystery device are even more scarce – all we really know is that it has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and will likely have to conform to one of Microsoft’s three chassis requirements.

Though the comments surrounding this Windows phone indicate that it’s second to the Panther, I’m tempted to think that they are one and the same – the giveaway for me is the identical light sensor placement and silver bezel style. Take this all with a grain of salt, as the original source has unpublished the picture, potentially because it was shot down as an enthusiast’s Photoshop job, but even in that case, the originator had a pretty nice rendering of the Panther to work with. It was openly admitted that the first look that the Panther was a pre-production prototype, so LG may very well have changed a few things since then.

One way or the other, we’re expecting LG’s first Windows phone to launch sometime in September, and between now and then, we’ll probably catch another glimpse or two of the Panther, hopefully with some specs.
