Novatel Wireless has officially launched NovaDrive application/service for its MiFi “Intelligent Mobile Hotspot” product. I’m saying officially, as we’ve seen them demoing the service at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, when they also announced apps for MiFi.
The new service, powered by Nomadesk technology, allows MiFi users to share, synchronize, encrypt, backup and store files to access from any WiFi-enabled device. Everyone can try out the service for free during the 30-day trial period, after which it costs $50 per year for unlimited storage. Then there’s a business offering that provides unlimited storage and collaboration with an unlimited number of team members for $15 per month.
In addition, NovaDrive also supports TheftGuard technology, where users can shred or restore data remotely in the event of theft and they can even locate the mobile device using Google Maps.
If all this sounds interesting to you, hop over to NovaDrive’s website, sign-up and take it from there. You don’t need to have a MiFi unit to setup an account, but as far as Novatel wants us to believe, the service runs better with their product.
