Verizon HTC Droid Eris and BlackBerry Tour 9630 EOL Dates

A quick EOL (end-of-life) notice here for the HTC Droid Eris and BlackBerry Tour 9630, on Verizon. Via BerryScoop, some leaked internal shots have arisen, giving us a looksee into the future of the Eris and Tour on big red. Sadly, the run is coming to a close.

By the looks of things, the ADR6200, AKA the HTC Droid Eris, will hit its end-of-life in May. Plus, we can also glean the fact that the BlackBerry Tour 9630 will no longer be available come sometime in June.

The Eris EOL news isn’t really a shocker to me, but the Tour… Yeah, sort of a big deal. If the Tour is headed for retirement, we should probably look forward to some new-fangled BlackBerry to hit the scene on Verizon in the months ahead. Any guesses?

*cough* 9650 *cough*

    “Any guesses?”
Are you SERIOUS? Have you been living under a rock for the past 4 months? The info on the Bold 9650 has been leaking all over the blogs, including this site!

This information is erroneous. The Droid Eris is still a new phone and is currently one of the top selling models in the lower-end Droid market.

Your “leaked screenshot” leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, I could bust out with notepad++ and create a similar page, crop it down, and make it look just like that.

Title says phones “get End-of-Life-Dates” but the 2nd paragraph starts with “by the looks of things,” and goes on to speculate and quote conjecture as well as “glean” more questionable info from the shaky rumor.

    Love it.
