Even though the default version of the Sense UI is pretty customizable, some folks may find HTC’s software somewhat limiting. They may want to include an additional icon or two on their homescreen or perhaps load up the lock screen with few Sense elements. You can do that thanks to Co0kieMonster and his team at XDA Developer Forums.

The name of the game is Home Tab Mod and using it you will be able to change and then fine tune Sense UI in ways unimaginable before. There are 6 clock layouts to choose from, 2 notification bar styles, 3 unlock slider choices, support for more than 3 quick links pages, ability to show 2 or 3 quick link rows in main view, and so on. The application is now in version 1.7 and not surprisingly some of the bugs reported before have been fixed, ensuring smooth experience.

So, if you own the necessary hardware and are ready for some experimenting, hop over to this page at XDA Developer Forums and take it from there. Once Home Tab Mod is installed on your device I doubt you’ll ever want to go back to the default view…

And before you leave, check out an almost 10-minute long video demoing the application, compliments of PocketNow.
