Avenir Telecom, one of the UK’s leading distributors in mobile telecoms, has announced the availability of an exclusive series of accessories for the Apple iPad, from five major manufacturers:

Dexim Including audio and video adapters, battery pack and power cables, in-car chargers, carbon fibre and silicon sleeves, screen protectors and headsets. There’s even an innovative WiFi-enabled digital video camera that turns the iPad into a live video baby monitor or security camera system, which was a finalist at the CTIA Emerging Technology Awards 2010.

iSkin A range of super-tough and stylish protection products from the Toronto-based company who were a hit at this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and who have earned five star, Editor’s Choice and Best Of Show awards from MacWorld.

Bling My Thing Fashion accessories from Japanese designer Ayano Kimura using Swarovski crystals. This follows Bling My Thing’s ranges for the iPod and iPhone which have been featured in Elle, Tatler and Cosmopolitan.

Speck A series of high-end protection and case products including the PixelShield carry sleeve with reinforced screen protection, the PixelSleeve Plus reinforced carry case and the ShieldView screen film pack.

BeeWi Avenir unveiled a set of five new Bluetooth-enabled mobile accessories at Mobile World Congress in February, all of which are now shipping to retail, including a wireless keyboard and a transceiver which, when used as a pair, can wirelessly connect any device to an iPad, from a TV to existing hi-fi speakers.

Cool! I’m loving the Dexim Wi-Fi digital video camera as a concept, and also the BeeWi wireless transceiver – both leverage video as a medium, and if they can make the iPad do tricks then so much the better! Once these products get retail presence I’ll update the post and let you know where you can get ‘em!

As a result he has a broad and deep knowledge in numerous areas of Mobile – from network operators to device vendors, to infrastructure and middleware vendors (not to mention content delivery) – and has worked for companies in all of these areas! He is based in the UK, a hotbed of activity for mobile, and recently became a father for the second time – as oppose to in his younger years when he was happy spend time tweaking all manner of mobile devices to 'nth' degree, he now looks for services and hardware that provide the most efficient, compact, and reliable improvements to his already manic life! It’s his opinion that Mobile solutions should be there to help to make your life better – if a particular solution (be it service or device) isn’t doing this, he believes you need to ask the very important question of why you continue to use it... His focus at IntoMobile is mainly on Mobile content, services, and infrastructure, particularly as regards the UK market – and with the occasional look at devices. Additionally, using his extensive experience in the industry, he will provide commentary on the industry at large, with regular (and hopefully thought-provoking) articles.

I really happy to see this post. This is a good overview of some of the lesser-known but higher quality accessories on the market. I'm looking forward to the updated post to learn more about the Dexim and BeeWi accessories.
