Everyone’s favorite blue, speedy daredevil is back in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for iPhone and iPod touch. Follow Sonic and his new partner, Tails, on their mission to free their friends and stop the evil Dr. Robotnik from stealing the Chaos Emeralds!

Here are the headlines from Sega:

  • Enjoy the classic gameplay you know and love from the original as an all-new experience with the unique touch screen features of the iPhone and iPod touch
  • Defy gravity in hair-raising loop-de-loops, bounce like a pinball and race like lightning
  • Play in full screen or classic “arcade” mode

Personally, I think sequels rarely better the original – and given Sonic was one of THE games that made the Megadrive the console to have when I was growing up, I’ll be hard pushed to see if Sonic 2 can be better. That said, I’m prepared to have my mind changed through some extensive playing testing :-)
