There are no doubts Samsung and other major companies want to have their own tablet device now that Apple has broke the market with the iPad. The Korean giant will apparently launch its baby in the second half of the year, most likely in August.

We don’t know all the details, but we’ve heard few important things:

  • The so called S-Pad will feature a Super AMOLED display, like the one found in the Wave, Samsung’s first bada-powered device. We’re talking about a 7-inch screen, though resolution is unknown at the moment.
  • It will run Android!
  • In addition to “regular” Android apps, there will be other, optimized to run on the tablet applications. These will most likely be distributed through Samsung Apps.
  • Features will include 3G (HSPA) and WiFi connectivity
  • SK Telecom is said to be the official carrier in Samsung’s domestic market.

And that’s about all we have at the moment. As soon as we hear something new, you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned. ;)
