Verizon Wireless doesn’t want to miss the huge mobile advertising market. Hence the carrier announced the Advertising Development Center, which will be available through the Verizon Developer Community (VDC) portal to provide developers with information, services and tools to help them implement ads into their apps and/or mobile websites.

Initially, two solutions will be available via the VDC:

  • Microsoft’s SDK for Bing – which will allow developers to embed a customizable search engine into websites and applications. And as you know, targeted ads follow search results…
  • AdMarvel – which will provide developers with reporting and analytics to “gain control over advertising inventory and campaign management through an online dashboard.” Additionally, there will be a free analytics SDK available to “gauge application performance.”

In a nutshell, if you want to target Verizon’s huge customer base, you’re probably already a member of their developer community. If you’re not, it’s located at developer.verizon.com and from there you’ll soon be able to access some mobile advertising related content…
