Sipera Systems, the leader in real-time unified communications (UC) enablement and security, has closed a new funding round of $10 million. S3 Ventures led the round, which also included earlier investors like Austin Ventures, Duchossois Technology Partners (DTEC), Sequoia Capital and STAR Ventures. With this new round, Sipera’s total funding reached $48 million.
The company plans to use the money to advance its smartphone UC security solutions and UC-Sec enterprise UC security product family; and to expand sales efforts in Asia, Europe and South America. Moreover, the funding will also enable Sipera to expand its relationships with the next-generation communications eco-system, including establishing new OEMs with leading UC vendors and supporting bundled VoIP and UC solutions from system integrators and communications service providers.
Sipera’s solutions provide privacy, security and control across the range of enterprise UC applications — including VoIP, video, messaging, collaboration and others. The company’s Borderless UC architecture enables enterprise managers to safely extend UC over any network to any device, including office phones, home office phones, remote call center agents, video devices, soft-phones, collaboration tools and smartphones.
