Rogers Android 2.1 Updates

If you believe everything you read on Twitter, then this is some solid news for Rogers customers packing the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 or HTC Magic. The news comes to us direct from one of Rogers’ Twitter accounts, @RogersMary. Here’s the skinny:

I just confirmed that HTC will deliver 2.1 for Magic for testing end of June. Acer Liquid will release w/2.1. X10 2.1 in fall.

So there you have it. HTC Magic (or, I guess I should say Magic+) users could see Android 2.1 as early as this summer. This isn’t much of a shocker, as we’ve heard rumblings of a summer 2.1 release for the Magic+ before. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 users can expect much of the same. The Acer Liquid e will come stock with 2.1 out-of-the-box… Something we already knew. But still… This is all good news for Rogers customers. Nice to know that more updated Android love is coming down the pipeline.

Stay tuned for more.
