It seems HTC is preparing the Smart successor. We don’t have all the details, but according to CellPassion, we’re talking about a pretty similar device which difference is reflected in the presence of WiFi and some Office Suite. Moreover, we’re hearing the price will remain low.
And that’s about all we know at the moment.
As a reminder, the original HTC Smart is powered by Qualcomm’s Brew platform and has such features as 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack and a microSD memory card slot. In terms of pre-installed apps, we find a web browser, email and IM clients, social networking app, media player, few widgets and so on. The unlocked device is available for about $250 and we’re hoping the Smart2 won’t cost much more — my bet is around $300. We’ll definitely keep watching the space and get back to you as soon as we hear something new. Stay tuned…
